About Our Supperclubs

Over the past ten years I have been fortunate enough to go on many courses. I just love learning about anything to do with healing, health and wellbeing. My intrigue for how we can turn to nature to support a holistic approach, to a balanced mind and body has lead me to herbal remedies, plant medicine, nutrition, fermenting, Auyervedic and Chinese medicine, meta physics and energy medicine to list just a few. I have learnt so much from some amazing teachers, tried and tested many things out over the years, and now use what I think are some staple, simple and effective ways to keep healthy and happy. I can not remember the last time I went to a chemist, I love turning to the garden for a herb, my cabinet for an essential oil or knowing what food my body needs to eat or drink to boost my immune system, nourish and heal.

In today’s fast paced world, more people are starting to realise that a convenient, quick fix doesn’t always work long term and often has other negative side effects. The movement towards turning to a more natural lifestyle, avoiding chemicals and synthetics and replacing processed with homemade is ever growing. I feel now is the time to share some of what I’ve learnt and trust to work.

Fortunately, I have just the place to do it, as I’ve realised the Retreat is not just the perfect space to TREAT but also to EAT. My friends love it when I set my big table up in the Retreat and cook a healthy nourishing meal. My days as a chalet girl put me in good stead for hosting and I’ve always loved cooking for people. I cook a nutritious homemade plant-based meal and sweet treats full of natural goodness. There will be herb teas, tonics and tinctures to try. I will cover the top essential oils to have in your home, the herbs to grow in your garden and share ideas for tinctures and tonics to infuse, explaining the health benefits and where possible give you the chance to make your own. I want to give you the confidence to give things a go at home, so you too, can become your own little home herbalist.

There is a lot to cover, so I’ll break it down into the different topics such as; the immune system, hormones, sleep, anxiety, allergies and heart health. First there will be the Digestive system and how we can heal our guts, as this really does seem to be at the base of it all. Western Herbal Medicine, Eastern Aurveydic and Chinese medicine all agree that it is the most important system to take care of. It’s like the engine room, it needs to have a good flow, to take in the good and extract the waste, to get the most out of our food and to really absorb the nutrients we put in it.

We are not what we eat but what we digest” Francis Bacon

This is where having a good healthy ‘gut’ comes into it, I’m going to explain the importance and ease of how we can nourish and repair it. I will serve you some delicious plant based, gluten free breads, fermented, pre and pro-biotic dips, pestos and salads, nourishing dahls and drinks you can incorporate into your daily diet and teach you simple ways to do this at home for you and the family.

To follow on from this is ‘Boosting the Immune System’ where I will talk all things immune boosting, and how we can kill of unwanted bacterias with essential oils, herbal teas, tinctures and tonics. Whilst serving foods full of natural anti-viral, fungal and bacterial qualities, which doesn’t sound very pleasant but I promise they will be delicious. Think garlic and thyme mushrooms, blood cider chilli, and yummy brownies full of good stuff! I will also be finishing the evening with herbal teas that have herbs to help reduce post viral symptoms like post viral fatigue.

Next up will be ‘Balancing Hormones and Slowing the Ageing Process’ split over two suppers. I will cover what’s impacting our hormone imbalances and what lifestyle changes we can make. How we can balance our sugar levels, love our liver and support our most important glands as this is what’s key to be at our optimum health!

From cleansing cocktails to delicious homemade nutritious foods, think, dips, pestos, salads, seedy crackers, satay veggies and seaweed surprises. All of the food and drink is designed to cleanse the body and boost our most needed minerals and nutrients that we are deficient in due to our external environments.

Retreats remedies will be included throughout from delicious drinks, to essential oil rollers and herbal teas as the perfect nightcap. I will explain all of the science and spiritual support they can offer to allow us to use nature as a support to move smoothly through our cycles, emotions and moods. The evening is suitable for all ages whether you’re at puberty, peri menopause, menopause or beyond, our body needs to be kept in balance at all ages to avoid awful symptoms that just make life harder.

All food is plant based, dairy, meat, gluten and refined sugar free. The meals do contain nuts and seeds, so would not be safe for anyone with nut allergies. All herbs and oils used are organic or hand foraged. Over you can expect the lunch clubs and supper clubs to be a relaxed afternoon or evening, full of good food, fun and a sharing of all things natural and nourishing. I will endeavour to send you home nourished and feeling empowered and inspired to give things a try on yourself, family and friends. All you will need is a notebook and an appetite for both the body and mind!!

If you just want some you time please feel to come alone, you will be sure to be surrounded by like minded souls. Share the experience with a friend or buy as a gift, vouchers are available on shop page. Or if you would like to arrange a private group, I need a minimum of 7 maximum of 10 in the Retreat. “The remedies have been working great. Since the February supper club I've been making my own breads to try out seed cycling, using the rebalance oil and really being conscious of what nutrients I eat and when, including when to drink the balance tea. Without getting too personal, my periods have always been a nightmare, really heavy and painful, I've contemplated the pill many times but really didn't want to have to deal with the side effects, and I figured it was better to deal with the beast I knew than create a new beast, and I figured this would be me until I stopped having periods. Since putting into practice everything I learnt at your supper club it's like I'm in a different body! My periods are lighter, they don't hurt and my mood swings... Have calmed down. It's been nothing short of astounding and I am very grateful for your wisdom and products because now I'm not dreading it when I'm due on, it's now just something that happens, I don't feel trapped. So thank you kindly lovely lady!”

“I just wanted to email you to say I am quite frankly mind blown - after 2 and a half years of not a squeak, I thought I felt the familiar murmurations of period pains on Tuesday night and never have I been so tentatively happy about a sore tummy 😂 I didn’t hold my breath, but blow me down… I did finally get my period back yesterday. October 2020 was the last, so it’s been a long time coming. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to you. I have been doing my seed cycling religiously since the day you sent me the info and haven’t missed a day. You also gave me a complete positive attitude towards it all for the first time in a long while, which I’m sure must help as the mind/body are so in tune. I didn’t really realise how unconfident it had been making me feel as a woman, until the feeling of completeness yesterday to know I am functioning as I should be. Long may it last - on the 2 week schedule I was on, I was due to move to Pumpkin/Flax seeds on Saturday, so have just read up and will start the new schedule today to match my body now, wow… never thought I’d say that. Thanks SO much Katherine, you’re an inspiration and I’m truly over the moon. Hope you’re so well too and hope to see you again soon!”
